Hubert the Hoppy

Meet Hubert, an Australian White Lip Tree Frog. They are the largest tree frog in the world and the largest frog in Australia.

I was out on a claim in Ingham, Queensland when I spied this lovely boy on a window blind. I immediately asked the insured if I could touch him. The frog, not the insured! He said of course and was kind enough to get the frog off the blind and on top of the back of the couch.

I warned the insured ahead of time that I was going to scream every time I touched him and he jumped. The frog, not the insured! So I petted the frog, he jumped, I screamed! Then I immediately started bouncing and clapping my hands in giddy excitement. I asked the insured for a box and made him stick the frog in it. Why?

I was taking him with me (the frog, not the insured!) back to my room at the Mudbrick Manor. I was going to have a pet! So the insured kindly put some holes in a box lid and plopped my new friend inside and off we went.

I named him Hubert because that was the last name of the insured whose house I got him at. He lived in my room for about a week and a half before I let him go. Mostly he hung out in the bathroom, taking showers with my every evening. He really was ginormous! I hearted him. It was just really nice to have a pet and a roommate when I was so homesick for my family.

I hope he is doing well and happy hopping around the courtyard at the Mudbrick.
